Most interesting in Malaysia Budget 2009

As civil servants, this is what most interesting

1. One month bonus for civil (government) servants, subject to a minimum of RM1,000. Payment in two installments - September and December 2008
*This is normal, but this is civil servant waiting every year.

2. Home ownership among civil servants to be boosted by extension of housing loans tenure to 30 years from 25 years

3. Tax exemption for all interest income for individuals

4. Government housing loan insurance panel to be expanded to all eligible insurance companies from only five insurance companies now

5. Government servants are given free return airfares to their home states,
between Peninsular Malaysia, and Sabah and Sarawak, provided every year, effective 1 January 2009.
